The Story:
The owner of this historic structure in the heart of Baltimore’s
Arts District wanted to make the vacant second floor available to
tenants. The goal was to maintain the existing Everyman Theatre
and Sofi’s Crepes (also designed by Arris) on the first floor
and to provide more conventional access to this 12,000 SF for future
tenants.
Arris worked with the building owner to develop a plan for updating
the façade and graphic signage design to provide more curb
appeal and to make the building fit into the neighborhood which
is also home to The Charles Theatre. Arris also found that the construction
of a side addition would provide for a more formal entry way to
the entire building, greatly increasing revenue.
