The Story:
In 1840, this historic location was a residence. Later, it became
the headquarters of the Oregon Mining Company and included a Company
Store. By the 1990’s, it was an abandoned eyesore at the entrance
to Oregon Ridge Park.
Thanks to the talents of Will Baukhages, with six months of construction
and close to $1,000,000, it became The Oregon Grille, a full service
first class restaurant. The original Company Store has been adapted
into the Bar Area while the rest of the house provides intimate
dining rooms seating 8 to 40 people each. The Attic Board Room now
functions for private events. In order to maximize patron seating,
the entire Kitchen, storage, and refrigeration functions are housed
in the existing and newly expanded basement.
The décor is not so much authentic period as it is simple,
sophisticated, and comfortable. Lighting was carefully chosen to
feature the art and décor without overwhelming the patrons.
