The Story:
Arris was awarded the interior architecture and design of this prestigious law firm, Semmes, Bowen & Semmes. As one of the oldest Baltimore law firms, their lease was about to expire after 20 years. Arris, working with Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, evaluated several real estate strategy options – renovate in the same building or relocate entirely. Arris reviewed industry trends and benchmarked against other firms. As a result, Semmes, Bowen & Semmes opted to go with “One Size Fits All” for Partners, Attorneys and Associates. One size for Senior and Junior Paralegals, and one size for all administrative functions. Capitalizing on Semmes, Bowen & Semmes’ long history and maritime experience, Arris used maritime as the basis of the design: wood, contrast, and blue green water. The design team created an interior that was modest yet stable and conservative with flair.
